Green Certification

Helping Business Become Environmentally Friendly.

Membership Benefits & Information (Click Here)

At the Green Business Bureau, our mission is to foster environmental awareness among

businesses and promote business practices that are both environmentally responsible and

commercially beneficial. We have designed a cutting-edge web-based tool that provides

businesses the road map they need to implement eco-friendly practices in the workplace

that will have a real impact on the environment and your business.

Why Going Green Makes Business Sense

1 Gain a Marketing Edge

By going “Green” you can differentiate yourself

from your competitors and tailor your business

to a growing base of green consumers.

2 Gain New Customers

Eco-friendly is customer-friendly because your

customers want to feel good about who they

do business with.

3 Bring Employees Together

Creating a sustainable business will keep

employees happy and excited about their

workplace. People value working in a

socially-conscious environment.

4 Help Reduce Costs

Protecting the environment means protecting

your bottom line. You can reduce costs and

grow revenue by following the simple green

business solutions offered by the GBB.

5 Protect the Environment

With so many corporations irresponsibly

wasting resources and dumping contaminants

into our air and water supply, the planet

needs a hero. It doesn’t matter if your business

is Mighty Mouse or the Hulk. By doing your

part to save the earth, you give society

someone to look up to.

“Companies are seeing that increasingly people want

more efficient, cleaner products,” said Fred Krup, president

of Environmental Defense. “The smart companies are looking

ahead and seeing there are profits to be made here.”

Each initiative comes with its own EcoPlan™, a printable

on exactly how to implement an initiative.

The Davis Wright Tremaine law firm uses re-manufactured

toner cartridges in its laser printers and fax machines,

saving approximately $12,000 a year for its Portland

office alone.

“Not only should “Going Green” not entail any major expense, it can actually save your

small business money. After all, the whole idea is to reduce, reuse and recycle.”

– Steve Strauss, one of the country’s leading small business experts according to USA TODAY

“…environmentalism is not about fighting global warming or

hopping on a trend: It’s about the bottom line.”

– Betsy Stark, Business Correspondent from ABC News

“It’s both great business and a good business—great in that it is generating

real orders and revenue…and good in the burnishing effect our

initiatives have had on both our brand and our business.”

– Peter O’Toole, a spokesperson for General Electric

“If companies understand the true cost of environmental

factors to their bottom line, they are more likely to do

something about it on their own.”

– Janet Ranganathan, World Resources Institute
